As promised, we will release a demo before march. As usually when it comes to deadlines, its easier to make it before the final deadline, so from time span between 15th and 28, its 28th. But we have a good reason for that. Demo version actually went to testing on 15th, but we found some stuff to fix. However, due to testing and some brainstorming after the testing we’ve decided to introduce a new feature which will already be present in the demo.
Ufotts will feature geoscape time passing while in tactical combat (probably as one of very few xcom based games)!
Finally, when your troops arrive at dawn you will get the chance to see night become day. Its something i alwayed missed in the original game. So im personally happy about this feature.

That sounds like an excellent addition to the game. i know i am probably not alone in cheating and only going to missions when its daylight. Keep up the good work!!!
Great news!
Hehe, I also waited for the daylight to start the mission
Will this option have any influence on gameplay? I mean the change in accuracy or addition of some night goggles or something?
Visual sight is calculated depending on light intensity. So yeah, it will affect gameplay. Original game had limited visuals at night, the only difference is that it will automatically adjust with each passing turn. But not goggles or any other additional equipment. (Again, this will be like the original)
Will the time it takes for the xcom player to start the mission decide if the aliens can choose where they deploy their units? (is this possible) the longer it takes them could decide how large a deployment area the aliens could have. Or is it just random.
Its just random. Area size is decided on ufo size. Large ufo means large deployment area. But specific placing of units is totally random.
This is a feature I always wanted in X-Com, and I think it will add to the realism and “dynamically generated” feel of it. Looking forward to trying the demo (deadline following not required
).
Great work!!!!!
It’s sunday
wait,its not.fail
I thought it was a sneaky plan to fool us into publishing it earlier
