First, congratulations to UFO: AI team. After more than two years of hard work, they released new stable version (2.3) of their project. There are many changes, related to gameplay and engine capabilities (bump maps, glow maps, specular lighting, etc).

You can download latest version from here.
Meanwhile, SupSuper (author of OpenXcom project) has uploaded new SVN builds (builds made from latest codebase), featuring bulding and dismantling base facitilities.

His project is still in early phase, far from being playable. But if you would like to help with coding (fix some bug, enhance something), you can send him a patch. Head here for more information.

since you are talking about xcom projects i feel inclined to mention the “official” project that was announced at e3. it seems like they are trying to make it fps instead of the turn based tactics we know and love.

yeah it looks pretty terrible. They wasted precious e3 time showing us some 50′s guys shooting poorly rendered blobs with generic shotguns that every FPS has… yep… that was it… boring stuff imo.
Thankfully the news of 2k’s lame x-com reboot is partially how I found this project here! UFO the Two Sides is a Godsend to the starved x-com community!
