Finally, the time has come.
To have all the game files you should get the original game before playing Ufo: The Two Sides. However the game will not need the extractor to run (like demo did). You can play the game straight away without the need to extract graphics from the original. If you do, you won’t have any sound in game, and some graphics will be missing, but it will be playable. In other words, you can play ufo:tts without ufo1, if you can live with silent game and some blank graphics.

The only thing you need to do, is to locate directory where actual ufo game (with directories like “GEOGRAPH” “UFOGRAPH” etc) is installed. And point that directory in extractor program.

What is funny in selling a clasic that many people want to buy? What do you mean by ‘free’ ? Do you mean illegal? Then most of the games can be ‘free’.
It can be downloaded from many abandonware sites, dunno if they are legal or not though..

Jack: The fact it makes you smile/laugh is hardly a reason for it to be something naive or stupid (i suppose this is what you meant). Is buying a new game that quite often turns out to be crap more justified than buying an old and good one? People buy those old games for their nostalgic value which is worth more than some another generic shooter with modern graphics.

Could not agree more with nefurii. Most new games are utter crap…. All this modern games with CGI cutscenes mean absolutely nothing to me as a lifelong gamer… Which is part of why I could care less about the generic shooter the new x-com by 2kgames is likely to be.
People really shouldn’t be stealing a copy of this game, it’s worth every penny *far more then new games are worth* and it is only a couple bucks to buy…. however….. sadly when people do buy it, the original creators of it get nothing for it. Not trying to justify theft of the game but…. yeah…. it’s unfortunate the gallop brothers aren’t profiting from their baby!

and the most sad thing people don’t know that microprose is dead long time ago and y pay money not to ‘original developer’, but to take2 who grabbed(stole, buy nevermind) legal rights on this game and making profit on it like frauds, so copyrighters to hell anyway.. imho xD also now they are making x-com shooter! on name of original game so i hate them even more
