After all – its this sunday. Saves from previous version wont work. You must rerun the extractor. Its an entire game packed again since there were some changes to files.

Also – for those of you interested in making the gui config manipulator – cfg files are in the game, check them. Think of something, make a thread on the forum, we will stick it if the program works fine. That’s all. Since cfg’s are now public – dont contact me anymore :) .

We’re working on the next patch. Changed digit instead of the letter in version number means it will be a bit bigger patch. It will be ready either this sunday or next weeked. Judging by the ammount of things i want to implement/fix it will most probably be the next weekend.

Changes will affect saves. So current saves wont work.

Another thing: is there any volunteer that would like to write a small program? Implementing a GUI driven config manipulator ingame is a bit of work. So i thought that an external program could be used for it. In other words a simple window based (can be c#/vb or whatever) gui program for changing options in the config file. A cool feature would be if it was able to pull your monitor’s available resolutions and either allow the user to input them manually for windowed gameplay or to chose from a combobox for fullscreen. Also, the config file will be a bit different for 0.91 too, so if someone would like to make such a program, he/she should contact me first (forum, mail or irc).

!!EDIT!!

Another version is up. The “e”. From this time on i’ll try to release bigger patches with more fixes but not so often. I know it must be annoying to have to redownload patches all the time. I just don’t like obvious bugs laying around. (you always need just the latest patch put ontop of standard 0.90 package)

Among things ive broken with previous patches was being unable to fire with laser weapons. This required a quick hotfix.

I’m also happy to say that we’ve recived our first donation! Hurray and big thank you to the person that gave it :) .

!!IMPORTANT UPDATE!!

Anyone who could not run the game (game flashes and exists instantly) should redownload the package. Now there is a ufo_sh1.exe included which was compiled for 1.x versions of shaders. However, I dont have the equipment to test if it actually works. So anyone who couldnt run the standard game, please try the alternate exe. If you succeed in running it, inform me. (you may require a graphics card driver update)

As what you can expect from the word ‘beta’ this game will crash/not work/behave strangely. If you notice anything like that, visit our forum and report.

Game works without running the extractor, as mentioned before. But to play with sounds and all graphics you will have to do it non the less. It works exactly the same as in demo, so in case of troube, check out the forum, there are already some threads that explain a bit more into how to use the extractor if it doesnt work straight out of the box.

Also, for those of you who think our countless hours of work brought you some enjoyment over the game, you can donate :)

Please remember also that you can not play as aliens in singleplayer. There is no Ai for humans. You can however start the game. This serves as a kind of sandbox to see how aliens look.

Finally, the time has come.

To have all the game files you should get the original game before playing Ufo: The Two Sides. However the game will not need the extractor to run (like demo did). You can play the game straight away without the need to extract graphics from the original. If you do, you won’t have any sound in game, and some graphics will be missing, but it will be playable. In other words, you can play ufo:tts without ufo1, if you can live with silent game and some blank graphics.

Our hoster, Ninex.info is planning server upgrade this Sunday (4th July), from 12pm to 4pm CEST time (maybe more, maybe less).

Our site and forum will be down at that time.
